Deputy of Youth Engagement Lobegeiger-Belinda-2019a.jpg

Belinda Lobegeiger

As Deputy of Youth Engagement I lead the schools youth engagement programs that include the Wellness Hub and FlexiSpace Learning Hub (2021 implementation). Our priority in these programs is learning and wellbeing success for all students through inclusive education. I lead a dynamic wellbeing support team and together we support student engagement and those that who may be at risk of disengagement from learning and school. Specifically, we do this through supporting students engagement in three dimensions; behavioral, emotional and cognitive engagement. The DoE Youth Engagement Strategy has set a target to have 91% of Queensland young people engaged in work, training or study by 2022. This is what drives the work we do and our core mission is to support students to stay in school and improve our retention from year 10 to 12.  Our Youth Engagement work is guided by the Youth Engagement Alliance which works to establish inter-agency collaboration across government and other agencies. The Wellness Hub supports this work through multidisciplinary and wrap around support from internal and external stakeholders that focuses on wellbeing for all our students.
